Sturdy, open mesh all the way around for ventilationIt’s very wobbly and the mattress that came with it is pretty much a wooden or plastic board.Very good for next to your bed, the mattress pad is super thin though and the product made it seem like it was an actual mattress. Also the safety strap for the bed doesn’t reach all the way across a king bed.The bassinet we got shipped was not the one pictured. The side still zips down but after only having it for two months, the side has become loose and baby gets stuck in the side/net. The side has come away from the mattress and babes head Has gotten stuck multiple times so far.I’ve had to roll up a blanket and stuff it in the side of the mattress so baby doesn’t get stuck in the gap.Would not recommend at all. I get so much less sleep thanks to this bassinet.It was a small co-sleeping bassinet. I don't know why they changed it...This is a keeper whether you use it as a bassinet or beside the bed it is perfect wish I knew about these for my great grandchild when the first one was born I would have bought one for all of them. It is easy to assemble and age appropriateThe so called thick mattress is a joke. It’s thin and hard. I had to go to Walmart and buy a mattress topper to make it comfortable for my baby.
